Selecting a behaviour analyst for children with autism: Empowering families to make informed decisions

Symptoms of ASD include challenges in social communication and restrictive, repetitive interests and behaviour. While the symptoms, severity, and impact of ASD vary, evidence-based therapies can help to mitigate challenges that people with autism may experience. The most effective therapies are behavioural interventions based on the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), which are designed and supervised by qualified behaviour analysts and delivered by well-trained and supervised therapists. Behaviour analysis is the science of behaviour change. Behaviour analysts provide treatments that change behaviour over time and teach skills to help people with autism
